What: Soul Restoration

Soul Restoration by Melody Ross from Brave Girls Club was a game changer for me. With art as an aid I healed soul wounds, learned how to be brave day to day and how to really practice soul care and self respect. I've taken this course 5 times. Twice in person in Idaho, twice online with Brave Girl University and once while training to become a Certified Instructor. I believe in this curriculum so much that I drove 3500km, 34 hours, 8 US states and one province to get there, that was in 2013. And if you knew me prior to that; you would have never in a million years believed that I would do something like that, I was a shy introvert (most of the time). The next time in 2015, I navigated O'Hare airport (yikes!).
I want to teach you how to be brave and give you some tools that have worked for me. I want you to know that you matter. I want you to learn how to fill up your cup first, so that you can better serve others. I want you to go to bed at night with as most self respect as possible. I want to spend a week serving you. And don't forget the art. Let's bring out the creative in you! She's in there, I know she is, she use to draw stick people, remember her?  Let's cover our hands in paint!

Where: Miller Lake, Ontario

Camp will held on the shore of Miller Lake, on the Bruce Peninsula. Summer House Park will be hosting us for the week. We'll share cottages and gather daily in the recreation hall for lessons. One mantra I learned at Brave Girl Camp is "Go Where The Peace Is" and Summer House Park is where the peace is at.

Do I have to be an artist to come to Soul Restoration Camp?
No, you most certainly do not have to be an artist to come to Soul Restoration Camp! My friend Melody (from Brave Girls Club) has specifically designed these projects to be for ALL SKILL LEVELS. If you’re more of a beginner, don’t worry….you will learn easy-to-apply techniques that will translate into beautiful projects that you will be proud of and that will be powerful life-tools. You will be provided instruction and someone will be around to answer any questions you might have . So even if you don’t consider yourself an artist, BE BRAVE –Soul Restoration Camp is absolutely for you! Hey, you may even surprise yourself. And remember that while the art is beautiful, the soul work you do here is the most important.

What is a typical day like?
A typical day at Soul Restoration Camp starts off with having breakfast in the dinning room with your fellow campers, the plan is to have breakfast come and go. Alternatively, you could choose to have breakfast on your own in your cottage (at your own expense, we will not be providing food in the cottages, though feel free to bring your own). Classes with Christa will take place in the recreation hall. We will feed you a wonderful lunch and delicious snacks in the afternoon. You will have time to journal, time to make art in the recreation hall, time to take a walk along the lake ,hike the trails near by, kayak, time to talk with other women, and time to do whatever else might be nourishing for your soul. At dinner time we gather in the dinning room and enjoy a fabulous meal together. Followed by a delectable dessert, of course. The evenings include more time to work on your art, wonderful shares around the red carpet, laughter, and all sorts of magical experiences. At the end of the night, you will return back to the cottages for a restful night of sleep so you can do it all over again the next day!
Soul Restoration Camp is the vacation from life that you have been waiting for and the experience of a lifetime. Our goal is to make sure that you have the time of your life while making lifelong friendships, and especially that you go back to your life a stronger, more joyful woman, feeling on-track and ready to be exactly who you are and to do exactly what is in your heart.

Should I come alone or should I bring a friend?
This is totally up to you. Both experiences are equally amazing. There is nothing to fear if you are coming alone, you are loved before you even get here. You are already apart of the tribe. And it can be really freeing to come to a retreat solo because then you can be whom ever you wish to be. Coming with a friend is fun too, imagine rediscovering that person, I bet you'll learn things about her that you never knew before. If this is the case and you wish to room together, please let us know.
What kind of weather should I expect?
Ontario in the spring can see all four seasons, sometimes in the same day! As it gets closer to the date, we'll send out packing list.
What should I bring with me?
We will be in contact with you when you register and we will provide you with a packing list. It'll include comfortable clothing and just a few art supplies... We try to make it easy to travel light!
What about computers and cell phones?
We encourage being unplugged while at Camp. We suggest that you leave your laptops and iPads and such at home (gasp!) and turn OFF cell phones for the duration of camp. This is a very important part of what makes camp so special. WiFi will be available, however on the Peninsula, it can be spotty at best. Don’t worry — your loved ones will have an emergency contact number so that you can be reached if needed. You deserve this to be the best experience possible and unplugging is a critical part of that. (When was the last time you were in a room with a group of people where no one was texting or checking their messages?) You’ll be able to really focus on yourself and the incredible experiences you are having. Cell phones MUST be turned off when we are around the Red Carpet. Trust us – it’ll be okay.
Is tuition refundable?
There is an enormous amount of expense and advance preparation that goes into preparing for each individual guest. While the initial $300 deposit is not refundable, up to a certain point tuitions are transferable to another person. So if something comes up that prevents you from coming, you are free to sell your spot to another person. Please contact christa@wildflowersouls.ca for details on how to do that. You will see the entire refund policy as part of the registration process. Please be sure to read it carefully before you complete your registration. Email christa@wildflowersouls.ca to register.
