Soak up the sun - Pencil lines 254
Over the last couple weeks I've been working on some LO's. Here is one from Pencil lines

This summer I had a couple of awesome beach days with my bestfriend Liz. We even managed to get into the water a couple of times.

Pencil lines. 248 - Inocent
Here's a sketch by Pencil lines
And my take.
I was very surprised when this little guy allowed me to get so close to capture his photo. It's kinda sad to think that it was probably only because he hasn't learned to be afraid yet.

Pencil Lines 247 - The pipes.
Here's a LO I did based off this sketch from Pencil Lines.
It worked well for this photo of my cousin Roo playing the bag pipes @ his wedding. It wouldn't be a family wedding without them.
I'm adding a close up of the photo, b/c if you look closely, there is a lady in a blue dress with her hands up in the air....yeah that's our Grandma. As you can see she is having a great time.

Pencil Lines. 239. Alexis Victoria
Hi everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying their May 2-4 long weekend. The unofficial kick off to summer. The weather has certainly been great! Yesterday my cousin Roo got married. It was so fun to have all the cousins together. One of the best moments was when a bunch of us danced to "Don't stop believin'". Uncle Mat got some good pictures and I can't wait to see them. Anyway welcome Laura to our family, it might be a bit crazy but it is full of love and we will always have your back!
Anyway back to the reason for this post. Today http://www.pencillines.com/ posted this sketch

It was perfect for a LO about my new niece. I loved the LO so much, I framed it and hung it on my wall.
This photo was from her newborn photo shoot. The photo was taken by our friend Becky, Heritage Photography she specializes in natural light photography. Her photos are beautiful.
Well, that's all for now. I think I might read for awhile.

One layout, two challenges.
Over @ Scrapping the music they are using the song, "Hanging by a moment" by Lifehouse. The line "searching for truth" has always spoken to me. Aren't we all searching for the truth?? After spending last week with my new niece Alexis and watching her face for hours, it occured to me what I already knew....all you have to do is look at a babies face and know that GOD does exist. I used this sketch from Pencil lines

I flipped it and will likely switch the picture out for a better one once I get some developed.
Thanks for stopping by!

Got my groove back.
Finally, I've got my scrapbooking groove back. I'm not sure what my problem was but I was not getting inspired enough to start on my Punta Cana album. I've been busy planning a baby shower for my new niece and that might have been using up all my creativity and energy. I've never had a party @ my house before and I want it to be good. On the other hand it is a family shower, I really don't have to impress them. There is only so much you can do weeks ahead of time and I've pretty much done it, so after a nice visit with Dan, Jess and Alexis this weekend I sat down and started my trip album.
I used two sketches to get me going this week.
The first is by Sketchy Thursday,

I used two sketches to get me going this week.
The first is by Sketchy Thursday,
I flipped the sketch, picked the purple of my bathing suit and the blue of the water as my colours. I used the resort arm band to ground things. I'm really happy with this LO. It also tells the story about how happy I am that I reconnected with Jenn and was able to go on this trip and meet Crystal and Matt. Both of whom I hope will be good friends someday.
The next sketch I used was from Pencil linesAgain I flipped it and used the blue from the water in the pool. I think this album will have a lot of blue in it!
I also want to share my favorite picture from the weekends visit with Lexi. Here is my brother Tim, hanging out at Grandma's, so proud to be an Uncle.
That's all for now. Hopefully I'll get a few more pages down today before I head to Alexis' house on Sunday for a week. Can't wait for cuddles!

Pencil Lines 220 - Remember?
Hello all. This week I played along with Pencil Lines again.

Here is my take.
It's a LO about some tree ornaments I have been collecting when ever I travel. It appears I have spelt remember incorrectly....I better go fix it before the glue drys!
In other news my oldest friend Carrie just had her baby boy on Monday. I can't wait to meet him.

Vampires, sunshine, the civil war and Pencil Lines.
What do these have in common, one might ask?
Well that is how I spent my Sunday, in between watching Vampire Diaries and working on a LO based on Pencil Lines 219th sketch I went for a walk. Aside from beaches and sunsets there are fewer things more beautiful than the sparkling snow on a sunshine filled winters day.
There is something you should know about me, before it was cool to be "into" Vamps, I'm talking pre-Twilight - heck pre-Buffy even, I've loved vampire lore. And aside from that and Stefan and Damon of course, the Vampire Diaries has something else I love. The fictional town of Mystic Falls has a rich history surrounding the civil war..something else that I really love. I became interested in the civil war after reading a book in the sixth grade called The Root Cellar by Janet Lunn about two Canadian girls who travel to the US to try to find their friend after the war is over and bring him back to home to Canada. Since then I have always liked reading fiction set in that time period and that has lead me into my interest of slavery. I love that the town I live in was one of the last stops north on the underground railroad. Funnily enough, I'm also reading Roots right now. I love when everything connects!
As for Pencil Lines I created a LO based on this sketch.

It's called "I am what you see, I am not what they say but if I turned out to be, would you love me anyway?" It's a song by Tyler Hilton, who if you didn't know played Chris Kellar on One Tree Hill (some thing else I love). I think everyone feels this way sometimes. I know God sees the real me and I wanted to make a LO for my faithbook to remind me of that when I forget it.
I hope everyone did something they enjoy today....I know I did!

Pencil Lines - 216- Bold
So I used this sketch from Pencil Lines for more garden pics. I'm finding with my book about my garden that sketches are really the way to go, they really help keep each page fresh.

I actually never intended to make this LO last night. I planned an evening in front of the TV after being out Christmas shopping and then choir. It's funny how inspiration just appears.
I should probably explain the fairy. She was made from a kit by KLUTZ that I got for Christmas one year when I was in college. Apparently my mom knew I needed a creative outlet when I was in nursing school. Anyway the kit has been pack in my "craft" box for years until I bought my house and had a shelf to put my craft stuff on. When I saw this sketch, I thought a little fairy might be a great embellishment. I think she adds some whimsy to the page, which is what I feel like sometimes when I'm in my garden.
Thanks for looking!
